Body Mass Index
Is a measure of the nutritional status in adults. BMI is based on your height and weight.
For example, an adult who weighs 64 kg and whose height is 1.78 m will have a BMI of 20.2. This is considered to be within normal limits, according to to following Body Mass Index Chart:
Adults with a BMI of 30 or higher are obese. Obesity has more levels – e.g. severe obesity for a BMI of 40 or more. In this case it is likely to have a serious health problem.
